If you would like to join our Board, we ask that you first meet the following criteria:

  • Have you been a member of our Club for more than 12 months?
  • In the last 12 months have you attended 3 events or more?
  • It is preferred that you or your organisation has supported the Club though speaking, sponsoring, table hosting, helping with event day registration or been involved in day to day running of the Club or our events in some way.
  • Your business must be based within or have an office in the Swansea Bay Region.
  • Business must operate in a sector or a region that compliments the existing Board Members.
  • You are in a Senior Leadership role within your organisation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and contribute to Board discussions constructively.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and contribute ideas for long-term Club growth and development.
  • Willingness to serve on sub committees and or projects that align with the Club’s goals and vision
  • Adherence to a high standard of personal and professional ethics and integrity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to upholding the Club’s values and fostering an inclusive, respectful environment.
  • Strong connections within the Swansea Bay Region’s business community that can be leveraged to benefit the Club.
  • Ability to attract new members, partnerships, or sponsorships to the Club through professional network outreach.

 

I fill the criteria, what is next? 

Your appointment will need to be proposed and seconded by two members of the current Board and will be made following a quorate vote of the existing members of the Board. The President will have the casting vote in the case of a tie.

If your business operates in the same sector as an existing Board member, the appointment must be proposed or seconded by the same Board member. Any current Partner of the Club can nominate a replacement from the Partner company as the representative, without a seconder, but must be approved by a vote of the Board.

 

When is the best time to apply?

Appointments to the Board are not restricted to a time of year and new Board members can be appointed at any Board meeting provided there is a skills gap, regional representation gap, sector gap and/or the number of Board members has not exceeded 14. Appointees can be co-opted at any time and formally ratified at the following AGM.
